Everyone has recently been learning about Fairtrade as part of Fairtrade Fortnight (29th Feb – 13th March 2016). This was an exciting and busy time for everyone in school because we all had a food product to make as part of our Grow, Cook, Eat topic… all in preparation for our Fairtrade Cafe, open to parents and families one night after school. Obviously, everything served was made from Fairtrade products and each class was given a budget; the children were challenged to make a profit. The event was a roaring success with over 70 people reserving a table – many more turned up on the night too! Selected Y5 and Y6 children stayed behind to offer their services and did a fantastic job to serve tables, take payments and to help staff. Everyone involved really showed that Falla Park Community Primary School is a great place to learn and a great place to work! Well done everyone and thank you to all of the family members and friends who attended on the night. We can’t wait to do it again…
