The aim of our computing curriculum is to provide children with the knowledge and skills to enable them to engage effectively with the ever changing technological world.
At Falla Park we aim to teach the children the principles of computation and how digital systems work. Computing equips pupils to use information technology to create programs, systems and a range of media. We ensure that pupils become digitally literate – able to use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through, information and communication technology.
The school has invested in mobile technologies, including iPads, virtual learning platforms and digital cameras to serve as a tool in learning across the curriculum, as well as help develop pupil engagement, interest and ICT skills in their own right.
The children have the opportunity to use a wide range of software that develops a range of skills, such as:
- Word processing
- Programming and coding
- Video recording and editing
Computing and the use of technology is used throughout all areas of the curriculum to encourage engagement, motivation and application of key skills.
