Greek God Fact Files
The children really enjoyed quilling, which is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs – I’m sure you agree the Greek vases look stunning!!
That History Bloke – Meet the Greeks
As part of the year 6 creative curriculum topic: Meet the Greeks, the Excellent Eagles spent the day learning about the different aspects of Ancient Greek life, which was exciting, fun and informative!
Thomas Hepburn Visit
The Excellent Eagles (Year 6) had a fabulous day at Thomas Hepburn Academy where they went to experience a day in the life of a secondary school pupil! From start to finish it was both informative and exciting. The whole day’s learning was based around Halloween starting with the children learning and performing the moves to Michael Jackson’s classic, Thriller. The children worked in groups to arrange their dance routine and the PE teacher was very impressed with the children abilities to pick up quickly and apply new skills – they certainly had more rhythm than Miss Beattie and Mr Hauxwell! Next, was DT where they designed and made their own Halloween biscuits. Unsurprisingly, many of the biscuits did not make it out of Thomas Hepburn alive!! Finally, it was business studies where they was set the task of designing event fliers and invitations on for a Halloween party. From start to finish, it was a fantastic day and year 6, as always, represented the school fantastically well!
As part of the year 6 creative curriculum topic: Meet the Greeks, the year 6 children designed and made their own mosaics.
