Science and DT Week
During Science and DT week we learned all about floods. Year 5 had the task of creating something that could carry a family of four from the floods. We had to think about what materials would float in water and what would be strong enough to carry the family. We used different materials including wood and plastic bottles to create our boats and rafts, then we had to test them. Take a look at us trying them out in receptions water tray!
Eddie, from the Youth Offending Team, has been coming in to work with us in year 5. Eddie taught us all about anti-social behaviour and what sort of things can get you arrested. Did you know once you’re 10 years old you can be arrested and put in a cell? We learned a lot from Eddie and loved his funny workshops. Take a look at some of our snaps below.
This term we have enjoyed learning all about the Vikings in year 5. We loved developing our history skills through using artefacts and sources, we even used SOLE to find out information! Also, we had visits from ‘That History Bloke’, A Parent open morning, made Viking passports and learnt how to write in Viking runes as well as much, much more! Take a look at some of our work and pictures below!
