Recently in Reception the children have really enjoyed making models in the cut and stick area. The children have tried different ways of attaching materials together to create the finished product. They have even tried some sewing to make purses to use in the shop.

The Great Outdoors
After the poor weather conditions around Christmas the school garden had become very messy. The Busy Bees went out and helped to rebuild the fire pit and redecorate the garden ready for the Spring time ahead. The children found lots of worms and worked very well in small teams to move parts of the trees that had fallen down.
The Secrets of Success
The Busy Bees have been looking at the secrets of success. We decided to focus on working hard and don’t give up. The children have been very successful. They can be very proud of their work.

People Who Help Us
The Busy Bees have been to the local fire station to see how important a fire fighters job is to support their community. The children got to sit in the fire engine and use the hose. They watched one of the fire fighters use the crane which can reach up to 100 feet high. They also looked at the equipment on the fire engine. The children enjoyed looking through the TIC (Thermal Imaging Camera).
Police Come to Visit the Busy Bees
The police have been into school to show us how they do their job. They showed the children the important high visibility clothing that they have to wear so people can see them in the dark. They also demonstrated how to use their handcuffs and radios. The children then took turns to sit in the police car and put the siren on.
